"I brought in my father's Seiko — a manual wind from the late 1970s that hadn't run properly in years. The team looked at it while I waited, explained what they found without making me feel rushed, and gave me a timeline and price before I left. It came back keeping time well. I'm quite pleased with how they handled something I was worried about."

"Simple battery change on a quartz I use for work. Done in a few days, and they also mentioned the gasket had started to harden so they replaced that at the same time — it was already included in the price. Nice to have someone point that out rather than leave it. I'll be back when my other watch needs attention."

"Heritage restoration on a pocket watch — a Swiss piece from my grandfather. I was nervous about it. They took their time explaining what they'd do, sent me a couple of messages with updates during the eight weeks, and returned it working and looking as it should. They also kept the original crown pin rather than replacing it, which mattered to me."

"My automatic was losing around four minutes a day, which was frustrating. Brought it to Thepex and they diagnosed a worn mainspring, replaced it along with the full service, and regulated it properly. The difference is noticeable — it's now within about ten seconds a day. Three weeks turnaround as they said."

"I had two watches — one needed a simple battery, the other a mechanical service. They handled both together, gave separate pricing for each, and delivered both on the expected date. The only thing I'd mention is that the workshop is slightly harder to find the first time, but once you know it you're fine. Good people."

"A colleague recommended Thepex when my dress watch stopped setting correctly. It turned out to be a worn setting lever — not an expensive fix but one I wouldn't have known how to approach. They explained it clearly, gave me a quote, and fixed it within the week. Happy with the result and the communication."

A Closer Look at Three Repairs
Case 01 · Heritage Restoration
A 1968 Longines That Had Sat Unworn for Twelve Years
Challenge
The movement was completely seized — dried oil had gummed the train wheels. The crown was also missing, and the crystal was scratched through. The owner wanted it running but was firm: no polishing of the case, no new dial.
What We Did
Full movement overhaul with ultrasonic cleaning and period-appropriate lubrication. Sourced a period crown from stock. Replaced the crystal with an acrylic matching the original profile. Case left as-found at the owner's request.
Outcome
Watch now runs within 15 seconds per day. Original crown replaced with period equivalent. Seven weeks from drop-off to collection. Owner chose to have a second family piece assessed shortly after.
"I wasn't sure it could be saved. The fact that they kept the original finish and found a matching crown made the difference for me."
Case 02 · Mechanical Service
A Daily-Wear Automatic Running Four Minutes Slow Per Day
Challenge
A modern automatic used daily that had been gaining time badly for several months. The owner had tried adjusting the quickset but the problem persisted. Service history: unknown.
What We Did
Full service. Found that the balance wheel's hairspring had a slight distortion, probably from a knock. Corrected and regulated. Movement cleaned, re-oiled, and timed across six positions on the machine.
Outcome
Average deviation after service: +8 seconds per day. Three weeks as quoted. Price came in exactly as discussed — no additional parts were needed beyond what was included in the standard service.
"From four minutes off to under ten seconds. That's what I wanted. No drama, no extras on the bill."
Case 03 · Battery & Seal Service
A Waterproof Quartz Used for Swimming, Seals Five Years Old
Challenge
Owner used the watch regularly for lap swimming. Battery had died, but the main concern was seal integrity — five years in chlorinated water with no seal check.
What We Did
Battery replaced, all gaskets renewed. Air-pressure test confirmed the case was holding correctly after the service. Contacts cleaned and case back torqued to specification.
Outcome
Collected two days after drop-off. Owner advised to return for a seal check every two years given the regular swimming use. Price: ฿4,500 as listed — gasket renewal included, no additional charge.
"Exactly what I asked for. They also mentioned when I should come back, which was useful information I hadn't thought to ask."
