Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 8 May 2025  ·  Effective Date: 8 May 2025

1. Definitions

  • "Thepex" / "We" / "Us" / "Our" — the watch repair and restoration business operating from 188 Phloen Chit Road, Lumphini, Bangkok 10330, Thailand.
  • "Customer" / "You" / "Your" — the individual who brings a watch to us for service, contacts us via the website, or uses our services in any other capacity.
  • "Service" — any of the repair, servicing, or restoration activities described on our website or agreed with you in person.
  • "Watch" / "Item" — the timepiece(s) left with us for assessment or service.
  • "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any service-specific terms agreed in writing or verbally.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using our website, submitting an enquiry, or leaving a watch with us for assessment or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. If you are acting on behalf of another person (for example, bringing in a watch on their behalf), you confirm that you have authority to do so.

3. Service Description

We offer three categories of watch service:

  • Battery & Seal Service — replacement of the battery, cleaning of contacts, renewal of gaskets, and water-resistance check where applicable.
  • Mechanical Service — full movement disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, component inspection and replacement where required, and timing regulation.
  • Heritage Restoration — complete movement overhaul and conservation of case and dial for older or cherished watches, with decisions made in consultation with you throughout.

Services are carried out at our Bangkok workshop. We do not currently offer a postal or courier service for incoming watches.

4. Assessment and Quotation

All watches are assessed before any work begins. We will explain our findings and provide a price quotation. No service work commences without your verbal or written approval of the quoted price and scope. If we discover additional issues during the service that affect the price, we will contact you before proceeding.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the watch, its history, and any known damage when you drop it off
  • Ensure you are the owner of the watch, or have the legal authority to authorise work on it
  • Collect your watch within 30 days of being notified it is ready. Uncollected watches after this period may incur a storage charge of ฿200 per day
  • Keep any collection receipt or reference number we provide to you

6. Payment Terms

All prices are quoted and charged in Thai Baht (฿). Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept cash and common digital payment methods. We do not require a deposit for standard services; a deposit may be requested for heritage restorations involving sourced components.

Refunds and Cancellations

If you choose not to proceed with a service after assessment, there is no charge for the assessment itself. If a service has already commenced and you wish to cancel, we will charge for the work completed to that point. Refunds for completed work are considered on a case-by-case basis where there is a genuine fault in our workmanship.

7. Timelines

Indicative timelines are provided at the time of assessment (a few days for battery services, approximately three weeks for mechanical services, six to eight weeks for heritage restorations). These are estimates and not binding commitments. We will notify you if your watch is likely to be ready significantly later or earlier than indicated.

8. Care of Your Watch

We take reasonable care of all items left with us. Watches are stored securely and tagged with reference numbers throughout the service. In the unlikely event of accidental damage caused by our workmanship, we will discuss remedies with you in good faith. Our liability for any such damage is limited to the cost of the service performed or the reasonable cost of repair, whichever is lower.

9. Disclaimers

Watch repair and restoration involves inherent uncertainties, particularly for older or heavily worn pieces. We cannot guarantee specific accuracy outcomes for every watch, nor can we guarantee that a very old or damaged movement can be fully restored to working order. We will advise you honestly before work begins if we have significant concerns about a likely outcome.

Our website content is provided for informational purposes. We are not liable for decisions made based solely on website content without a direct assessment of your watch.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Thai law, our total liability to you in connection with any service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including sentimental value. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website — text, images, layout, and design — is owned by Thepex or used with permission. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

12. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work commences, subject to the cancellation terms in Section 6. We reserve the right to decline a service request at our discretion, in which case we will return your watch promptly and at no charge.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us directly at [email protected] so that we can seek an informal resolution. If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts, with Bangkok as the venue.

14. General Provisions

  • Entire agreement: These terms constitute the full agreement between us regarding website use and service engagement, unless supplemented by written service agreements.
  • Severability: If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • No waiver: Failure to enforce any term does not constitute waiver of future enforcement rights.
  • No assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms to a third party without our written consent.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For significant changes, we will aim to provide notice on the website homepage.
